Trooper Arrested in Lincoln Parish

On November 15, 2008 at about 10:55 pm, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were assisting Troop F Troopers at a crash scene when they arrested an off-duty trooper for interfering with medical personnel.

The incident began as a Troop F Trooper was investigating a single vehicle crash on LA 507, 3 miles south of US Hwy 80, in Lincoln Parish. The crash involved a 2006 Ford Mustang that was being driven by 20 year old Qshawn Ford from Arcadia. Lincoln Parish Deputies were assisting with the crash investigation and ambulance personnel from Ruston Ambulance service were treating the injured driver and two other passengers.

The driver’s father, Henry Ford, arrived on the scene and went to check on his injured son. According to statements given by the ambulance personnel, Ford was asked to leave the injured driver alone due to the possibility of spinal injuries and he refused to leave the area after being told to do so several times. Henry Ford then got into an altercation with the deputies as they attempted to remove him from the area. Deputies subdued Ford with a Taser and he was arrested for Interfering with Medical Personnel and Resisting an Officer.

It was later learned that Henry Ford was an off-duty trooper. Ford is currently assigned to the Transportation and Emergency Services Section of the state police in the Shreveport area. Ford was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and later released on his own recognizance.

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s office is handling the primary investigation into this matter. The Louisiana State Police will conduct an administrative investigation into the incident.
