News Release July 29, 2008 Union Parish Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
On July 29, 2008 at about 12:30 am, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of the driver. The crash occurred on LA 2 at milepost 127.6 in Union Parish. A 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling east on LA 2 when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway. The Mercury went airborne and struck several trees before coming to rest. The driver, identified as 24 year old Robert B. Bell from Marion, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner's Office. Bell was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is unknown at this time and routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty-four (34) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-five (35) deaths. For More Information, Contact:
