Two Men Die in West Carroll Parish Crash |

News Release August 17, 2008 Two Men Die in West Carroll Parish Crash
On August 17, 2008 at about 8:40 am, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of the driver and his passenger. The crash occurred on LA 585 (mile post 40.7) west of Kilbourne in West Carroll Parish. A 1991 Ford van was traveling east on LA 585 when the driver failed to negotiate a left curve and ran off the right side of the roadway. The van then struck a concrete ditch culvert and rolled over.
The driver, identified as 36 year old Juan Vaca from Kilbourne, LA, was not wearing his seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle in the crash. Vaca was pronounced dead at the scene by the West Carroll Parish Coroner’s office.
The passenger, identified as 44 year old Abran Villa from Jones, LA, was not wearing his seat belt and was totally ejected from the vehicle in the crash. Villa was also pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.
Alcohol use is unknown at this time and routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty-five (35) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-seven (37) deaths. For More Information, Contact:
