Georgia Man Dies in Lincoln Parish Crash

On September 23, 2008 at about 7:50 am, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Georgia man. The crash occurred on Interstate 20 at milepost 71.8 in Lincoln Parish near the Bienville Parish line. A 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling west on I-20 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. The Chevrolet continued off the roadway for about 150 feet before hitting a tree and coming to rest.
The driver, identified as 65 year old Larry D. Burlison from Winder, GA, was the only occupant in the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office. Burlison was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor, but routine toxicology tests are pending.

In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty-eight (38) fatal crashes resulting in forty-one (41) deaths.
