News Release March 20, 2009 Man Dies in Morehouse Parish Crash
A Bastrop man has died following a seemingly minor crash in Morehouse Parish.
The crash occurred on LA Hwy 830-2 (mile post 2.5) in Morehouse Parish. A 1985 Dodge truck was traveling north on LA 830-2 when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch embankment. The driver of the Dodge, a 45 year old Bastrop man identified as Leslie S. Norman, was found to be unconscious when deputies arrived. Norman was transported to the Morehouse General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers investigating the crash noted that the damage to the vehicle was not consistent with what is typically seen in most fatality crashes. While the Morehouse Parish Coroner's Office will determine the exact cause of death, it appears that Norman did not die as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Contact Information,
