News Release February 25, 2009 One Man Dead in Fatal Union Parish Crash
A Farmerville man died in a head-on crash in Union Parish Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred on LA Hwy 15 (mile post 169), just south of Farmerville, on February 24, 2009 at about 4:35 pm. A 1995 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on LA 15 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the south bound travel lane. A 2005 International "bucket truck" was traveling south on LA 15 when the driver saw the Chevrolet traveling towards him. The driver of the International attempted to avoid the collision by driving onto the southbound shoulder of the road, but the Chevrolet continued until the two vehicles hit in a head-on manner. After the initial collision, the International bucket truck rolled over and came to rest in a ditch. The Chevrolet continued until it came to a stop in the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 24 year old Kendale Ebarb from Farmerville, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner's Office. Ebarb was wearing his seat belt and alcohol use is unknown, pending toxicology reports.
The driver of the International, identified as 27 year old Bryan Thompson from West Monroe, reported minor injuries from the crash.
