News Release January 16, 2009 Speed Suspected to be a Factor in Deadly Crash A Tallulah man died in a single vehicle crash this morning. The crash occurred in Madison Parish on US Hwy 80, just east of the Tallulah city limits, at about 6:45 am on January 16, 2009. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was traveling east when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the right side of the roadway. The Pontiac then struck a large tree and came to rest.
The driver, identified as 42 year old Anthony L. Bibbs, was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish Coroner's Office. Bibbs was wearing his seat belt and alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor.
Troopers investigating the crash said that the car was just leaving a forty five MPH posted speed zone and it appears the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
In 2009, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated one (1) fatal crashes resulting in one (1) death. Contact Information,
