News Release July 15, 2008 Fatal Crash on I-20 in Ouachita Parish
On July 15, 2008 at about 12:45 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Monroe man. The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near milepost 119 when an eastbound 1995 International dump truck ran off the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons. The dump truck traveled for approximately 300 feet before striking several large trees. The driver, identified as 53 year old Lenard D. Quillen from Monroe, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office. Quillen was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty-two (32) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-three (33) deaths. For More Information, Contact:
