| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release February 20, 2008 Serious Injury Crash in Union Parish On February 20, 2008 at about 7:00 am, the Louisiana State Police was advised of a one vehicle crash which resulted in serious injury to the unrestrained driver. The crash occurred on Alabama Landing Rd about 4 miles east of LA 143 in the northeast section of Union parish. Troopers estimate that the crash occurred at about 1:30 am, but the exact time of the crash is unknown. A 1993 Dodge Dynasty was traveling west on Alabama Landing Rd. when, for unknown reasons, the driver ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, then ran off the right side of the road impacting a large tree in the area of the driver's door. The driver, identified as 21 year old Kortez Parrish from Huttig, AR, was transported to the LSU-Shreveport Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Parrish was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and alcohol use is suspected to be a factor.
