| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release March 4, 2008 Head-on Crash Leaves One Man Dead On March 4, 2008 at 12:46 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash which resulted in the death of one of the drivers. The crash occurred on US 167 at milepost 136.9 just north of Lillie in Union Parish. A 2006 Chevrolet truck was traveling south on US 167 when, for unknown reasons, the driver crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2007 Freightliner Tractor/Trailer head-on. The impact occurred approximately 8 feet from the center line in the north travel lane of the highway. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as James H. Harroun of Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner's office. Harroun was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver of the Freightliner, identified as Darnell D. Williams of Houston, TX, was not injured in the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. No citations have been issued. In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated ten (10) fatal crashes resulting in eleven (11) deaths.
