| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release March 8, 2008 Ejected Driver Dies in Caldwell Crash On March 8, 2008 at 2:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of the unrestrained driver. The crash occurred on LA 849 at milepost 9.3 in the Grayson community of Caldwell parish. A 2005 Chevrolet truck being driven by Darren E. Jacobson, a 34 year old man from Columbia, was traveling on LA 849 when, for unknown reasons, it ran off the right side of the road and entered a ditch. The Chevrolet overturned several times and ejected the driver. Jacobson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell Parish Coroner's office. Jacobson was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and alcohol is suspected to be a factor. Toxicology tests are pending. In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated eleven (11) fatal crashes resulting in twelve (12) deaths.
