| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release January 18, 2008 Head-on Crash Kills One in Union Parish On January 17, 2008 at 4:15 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Marion man. The crash occurred on Haile Baptist Church Rd in the northern part of Union Parish. A 1991 Ford Ranger was traveling east on Haile Baptist Church Rd approaching a right hand curve when, for unknown reasons, the driver locked the brakes up, failed to negotiate the curve and struck a 2002 Ford Ranger head-on. The driver of the 1991 Ford was identified as Milton Scarborough, a 18 year old Marion man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner's office. The driver of the 2002 Ford was identified as Edward Plummer, a 67 year old Marion man, and he was transported to St. Francis-North hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Scarborough was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and Plummer was wearing his. Alcohol use is unknown and routine toxicology tests are pending. No citations have been issued and the crash is still under investigation. In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated four (4) fatal crashes resulting in four(4) deaths.
