Edmonson, Superintendent News Release June 24, 2008 Collaborated Effort Results In Three Separate Arrests On Friday, June 20, 2008, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/North District Detectives arrested three suspects on an array of charges involving bank fraud and identity theft. The investigation began when a Monroe bank employee and bank security notified Louisiana State Police Detectives that a suspect attempted to buy account information. The initial investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Amon Rashad Peoples. Following further investigation, two others were arrested: Tonyell T. Toliver and Shawna L. Batiste. All three individuals were booked into the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center. Following the execution of search warrants, approximately $75,000.00-worth of merchandise, such as clothes, shoes, electronics and jewelry, were seized. Also seized were credit card-making materials: plastic, encoders, embossing machines, stamping machine and several card readers. The United States Secret Service and United States Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) aided in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing. The three suspects arrested are as follows: 1.
