News Release June 26, 2008 Motorcycle Crash Kills West Monroe Man
On June 26, 2008 at about 2:48 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a crash involving a motorcycle which resulted in the death of a West Monroe man. The crash occurred on LA 15 at milepost 157.9 in Union parish when a southbound 2000 Yamaha motorcycle ran off the right side of the road after coming out of a slight curve. The motorcycle then entered a ditch and ejected the driver. The driver, identified as 56 year old Richard Mobley from West Monroe, was able to talk to troopers as they arrived on the scene and he stated that an unknown pick-up truck ran him off the road. Mobley was unable to provide any vehicle description or any other information. Mobley was transported to the LSU-Shreveport hospital where he died from injuries he sustained in the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash and Mobley was wearing a helmet.
If anyone has information which may help troopers identify any other parties involved in this crash they are asked to call the Louisiana State Police Troop F office at (318)345-0000.
