Man Dies in East Carroll Parish Crash


On June 28, 2008 at about 10:55 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Lake Providence man. The crash occurred on LA 134 (mile post 64.3) just west of Lake Providence. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck was traveling east when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road. The truck then struck a ditch embankment and overturned. The driver, identified as 52 year old Timotheo Martinez from Lake Providence, was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending.

In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty-eight (28) fatal crashes resulting in twenty-nine (29) deaths.
