News Release June 29, 2008 Arkansas Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
On June 29, 2008 at about 12:45 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of an Arkansas man. The crash occurred in Ouachita parish on LA 139 about a half a mile from the Morehouse parish line. A 1987 BMW was traveling north on LA 139 when it ran off the right side of the road in a curve. The driver then overcorrected and crossed back over the road and ran off the left side of the highway. The BMW entered a ditch off the southbound side of the road and struck a tree. The driver, identified as 42 year old John G. Burke from Hope, AR, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner's office. Burke was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty-nine (29) fatal crashes resulting in thirty (30) deaths. For More Information, Contact:
