Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

On June 30, 2008 at about 8:38 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Sibley man. The crash occurred on Interstate 20 at milepost 73.3 in Lincoln Parish when a westbound 2000 Chevrolet Blazer ran off into the median for unknown reasons. The driver then overcorrected the vehicle and crossed back across both the westbound lanes and onto the right shoulder. The driver then steered hard back to the left and the vehicle rolled over several times.

The driver, identified as 24 year old Donald C. Holley Jr. from Sibley, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained in the crash. Holley was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending.

In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty (30) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-one (31) deaths.
