News Release June 2, 2008 Calhoun Man Dies in Ouachita Parish Crash
On June 2, 2008 at about 10:10 am, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a one vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 20 at milepost 111 in Ouachita Parish. The crash occurred when, for unknown reasons, a west bound 1989 Chevrolet Silverado truck ran off the right side of the roadway. The truck continued off the roadway and down an embankment where it struck a tree and became engulfed in flames. The driver, identified as 43 year old Eric B. Roy from Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroners Office. Roy was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and while alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor, routine toxicology tests are pending. Roy was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty-three (23) fatal crashes resulting in twenty-four (24) deaths. For More Information, Contact:
