News Release April 27, 2010 Serious Injury Crash in Ouachita Parish
A West Monroe man received critical injuries in a motorcycle crash in Ouachita Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated the crash today at about 11:47 am. The investigation revealed that a 2006 International tractor/trailer was northbound on LA 151 (milepost 47) when the driver began to make a left turn into a private driveway. The tractor/trailer had nearly completed its turn when a southbound 2007 Honda motorcycle struck the right rear of the trailer.
The driver of the Honda motorcycle, identified as 49-year-old Robert Barnard from West Monroe, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was air-lifted to the LSU-Shreveport hospital for treatment.
The driver of the tractor/trailer, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Goss from Choudrant, was not injured in the crash.
Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. No citations have been issued and the crash is still under investigation.
