News Release May 28, 2010 Lincoln Parish Fatal Crash
A Simsboro man has died in a single vehicle crash in Lincoln Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated the crash on May 27, 2010 at about 7:15 pm. The investigation revealed that a 2006 Nissan Maxima was traveling west on Jackson Rd when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle traveled for about 300 feet in a ditch before beginning to spin and cross back across the roadway. The Nissan then entered the ditch on the opposite side of the roadway where it rolled over several times.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as 52-year-old Richard Talbert from Simsboro, was pronounced dead by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office. Talbert was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated fourteen (14) fatal crashes resulting in fourteen (14) deaths.
