News Release June 22, 2010 Fatal Head-on Crash in Madison Parish
A man has died in a head-on crash in Madison Parish.
On June 21, 2010 at about 4:10 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers responded to the crash on US Hwy 65 (milepost 55) in Madison Parish. The investigation revealed that a 2010 Chevrolet truck was traveling north on US 65 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the center line and struck a south bound 2008 GMC truck head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 42-year-old Donald Vandersypen from Alexandria, was transported to the Madison Parish hospital and later air-lifted to University Medical Center in Jackson where he is listed in stable condition.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 48-year-old Harry Ingram from Eunice, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish Coroner's Office.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and impairment is not suspected in the crash. Charges are pending and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
