News Release March 17, 2010 Grambling Fugitive Arrested in California
A former Grambling City Clerk has been arrested in California for outstanding Louisiana arrest warrants.
Elizabeth Jones, a former city clerk in Grambling, was arrested in San Bernardino, CA for outstanding Louisiana State Police warrants. The warrants were issued following an LSP investigation into the city of Grambling. The investigation revealed that Jones had deposited more than forty thousand dollars of Grambling City funds into her personal account(s).
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff's office is coordinating with the California authorities to arrange the transportation and/or extradition of Jones back to Lincoln Parish. Upon her return, Jones will be booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for the warrants charging her with two counts of theft totaling more than forty thousand dollars.
