Edmonson, Superintendent News Release March 22, 2010 West Monroe Man Arrested in Baton Rouge for Insurance Fraud On March 19, 2010 LSP Detectives arrested Michael C. Olinde, 37-years-old from West Monroe on charges of Insurance Fraud. The arrest was the result of an investigation into a complaint made by Primerica Financial Services. Olinde was a licensed insurance producer who sold life insurance policies for Primerica. The investigation revealed that Olinde was fabricating policy applications in order to generate commission payments. The policy applications were submitted with fabricated information or the personal information (i.e. address, social security numbers) of former or existing Primerica customers. Coverage was initiated by Primerica on the false applications and Olinde received commissions as the producer of the policies. The investigation concluded that Olinde had fraudulently received approximately $3,000.00 in commission payments. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Olinde in the 19th Judicial District in East Baton Rouge Parish. On March 19, 2010 Olinde surrendered to LSP Detectives and was booked into the East Baton Rouge jail for three counts of Insurance Fraud.
