News Release April 17, 2010 Morehouse Parish Fatal Crash
An unrestrained driver has died in a one-vehicle crash in Morehouse Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated the crash at about 7:30 am this morning. The crash occurred some time during the night and was discovered this morning. The investigation revealed that a 2005 Chevrolet truck was traveling east on LA 592 (milepost 3.2) when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road. The truck then entered a ditch and the driver overcorrected as he attempted to steer back onto the paved surface. The truck began to slide and ultimately overturned in the ditch.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old Lester Paul from Bastrop, was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morehouse Parish Coroner's Office.
Impairment is unknown and routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated eight (8) fatal crashes resulting in eight (8) deaths. Contact Information, Trooper First Class Mark Dennis Louisiana State Police Troop F Public Affairs Office: (318) 345-2810
