Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in Madison Parish |

News Release September 12, 2010 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in Madison Parish
A Rayville man died in a single vehicle crash in Madison Parish early this morning.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers responded to the crash this morning at about 2:30 am. The investigation revealed that a 1992 Ford F-150 was traveling south on LA 577 (milepost 33.5) when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road after entering a left hand curve. The truck struck a large tree and continued for a short distance before becoming partially submerged in a creek.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old James Caster from Rayville, was transported to St Francis Hospital, but died a short time later. Alcohol use is not suspected, but routine toxicology tests are pending. Seat belt use is unknown.
In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty-nine (29) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-one (31) deaths.
