News Release September 14, 2010 Caldwell Parish Fatal Crash
One man has been killed and another has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Caldwell Parish.
On September 13, 2010, at approximately 6:05 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on LA 126 in Caldwell Parish, near the LaSalle Parish line. The investigation revealed that a 2007 Toyota truck was traveling east on LA 126, in a right hand curve, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center line into the path of a 1995 Ford F-350. The two trucks collided head-on and came to rest in the roadway.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 26-year-old Caleb Tucker from Olla, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell Parish Coroner's Office.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 53-year-old Clark Franklin from Grayson, was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to LSU-Shreveport with serious injuries.
Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, but routine toxicology tests are pending. Seat belts were worn by both drivers.
In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty (30) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-two (32) deaths.
