News Release February 21, 2010 Unrestrained Driver Dies in Union Parish Crash
A Farmerville man died in a Union Parish crash after being ejected from his vehicle.
The crash occurred on February 20, 2010, at about 10:26 pm, on John Haye Rd in Union Parish. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on John Haye Rd when it ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected back to the left and ran off the south side of the road. The truck struck a ditch embankment and began to roll over. The truck rolled over approximately three times and the driver was completely ejected from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Brad Templeton from Farmerville, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner's Office. Templeton was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is unknown and routine toxicology tests are pending. In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated four (4) fatal crashes resulting in four (4) deaths.
