Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 28, 2009 Lincoln Parish Fatal Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash claimed the life of a teenager from Grambling, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 1:55 am, which occurred on US Hwy 80 at LA Hwy 818. The crash involved a 2005 Toyota Corolla, driven by Jallisa Cooper (B/F 17 yrs). The Toyota was east bound on US Hwy 80 when Cooper lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the right side, the Toyota reentered the roadway and exited the left prior to colliding with a culvert. This action caused the vehicle to overturn. Cooper was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing her seatbelt. She was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. In 2009, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty (20) fatal crashes resulting in twenty-two (22) deaths.
