Juvenile Seriously Injured in Tensas Parish Crash

A sixteen year old juvenile was seriously injured in a Tensas Parish crash.

The crash occurred on June 17, 2009 at about 11:10 pm on LA 605 in Tensas Parish. A 2004 Oldsmobile car was traveling south on LA 605 (milepost 11.8)when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road to the right. The car entered a ditch and traveled for about 480 feet before striking a concrete culvert. The car then rolled over several times, ejecting the unrestrained driver from the vehicle.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle has been identified as a sixteen year old female juvenile from Newellton, LA. She was transported to the Madison Parish hospital and later transferred to University Medical Center in Jackson, MS with life-threatening injuries.

The juvenile has been cited for Careless Operation and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt.
