News Release August 5, 2009 Unrestrained Driver Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
A 40 year old Ruston man died after being ejected from his vehicle in a crash.
The crash occurred on August 4, 2009 at about 5:55 pm in Lincoln Parish. A 1991 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling east on LA 3061, about 1.1 miles east of US 167, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right side of the road. The driver then over corrected back across both lanes of the highway and ran off the left side of the road. The SUV then struck a ditch embankment and rolled over.
The driver, identified as 40 year old Jamie L. Kennedy from Ruston, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office. Kennedy was not wearing his seat belt and alcohol use is unknown, pending routine toxicology testing.
