News Release November 27, 2009 Triple Fatality Crash in Union Parish
Three people have died in two-vehicle crash in Union Parish
On November 27, 2009 at about 12:44 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a two vehicle fatality crash in Union Parish. A 2003 Mercury Sable was traveling west on Liberty Hill Rd approaching LA 33 north of Farmerville. The driver of the Mercury failed to yield at a stop sign at LA 33 and pulled out into the path of a northbound 2005 Freightliner "log truck". The driver of the Freightliner was unable to avoid the crash and struck the Mercury on the drivers side.
The three back seat passengers in the Mercury were killed in the collision. They have been identified as Brianna Glosson (19 yoa), DeMarcus Montgomery (18 yoa), and Leon Hicks (26 yoa). They are all from Farmerville. All three victims were unrestrained at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Mercury has been identified as 17-year-old Shontericka Jones from Farmerville. She sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Glenwood Hospital for treatment. Jones was cited for a stop sign violation.
The front seat passenger in the Mercury, identified as 22-year-old Latasha Gipson from Farmerville, also received moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 74-year-old Clyde Wilson from Bradley, AR, reported minor injuries from the crash.
