The investigation revealed that a 2002 Chevrolet truck was traveling south on Riser Rd when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road to the left. After leaving the roadway, the truck struck a large tree and came to rest.
The driver, identified as 50-year-old Larry Frasier from Ruston, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson Parish Coroner's Office. Frasier was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
