| TROOP F NEWS RELEASE November 27, 2019 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Jackson Parish Crash Jackson Parish -On November 27, 2019, shortly after midnight, Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 4, approximately one mile west of Louisiana Highway 811. The crash took the life of a Jonesboro man. The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 40-year-old Dustin Stanford, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 4. For reasons still under investigation, Stanford lost control of his vehicle and exited the roadway to the right where it began to overturn. Stanford, who was not restrained, was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. Failure to take a few seconds to buckle up can have devastating consequences. Louisiana law requires every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained day or night. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. In 2019, Troop F has investigated 35 fatal crashes resulting in 40 deaths. Contact Information: | |||
