TROOP A NEWS RELEASE Darrow Man Dies after Striking Cane Truck in Ascension Parish Darrow – Shortly before 4:00 pm on November 30, 2018, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle crash on LA 75 west of LA 22 in Ascension Parish. The crash resulted in the death of 37-year-old Dominick Boudreaux of Darrow. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Boudreaux was traveling westbound on LA 75 in a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. For reasons still under investigation, Boudreaux crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lane and struck the trailer of a 1999 International cane truck driven by 38-year-old Daniel Castro of Thibodaux. Boudreaux was not restrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office. Castro was properly restrained and was not injured. Impairment is suspected on the part of Boudreaux and a toxicology sample will be taken for analysis.
