| TROOP F NEWS RELEASE March 26, 2020 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Caldwell Parish Crash Caldwell Parish – On March 26, 2020, shortly after 3:30 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a one-vehicle, fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 133 north of Louisiana Highway 4. This crash claimed the life of a Columbia woman. The initial investigation revealed a 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by 77-year-old Gloria Hart, was traveling northbound on Louisiana Highway 133. For reasons still under investigation, Hart traveled off the right side of the highway. Hart overcorrected her steering causing her vehicle to travel across the roadway and then roll over. Hart, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Although impairment is not suspected, a toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Buckling up is the most effective way to protect yourself in a crash. Failure to take a few seconds to buckle up can have devastating consequences. Louisiana law requires every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained day or night. Contact Information: | |||
