TROOP F NEWS RELEASE July 3, 2018 Eros Woman Killed in Jackson Parish Crash Jackson Parish – Last night, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Eros, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 7:30 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 34, near the Jackson/Ouachita Parish line. The crash involved a 1990 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Deborah L. Craft (W/F 49 yrs). The Chevrolet was eastbound on LA Hwy 34 when Craft lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the right side of the roadway, Craft overcorrected her vehicle and exited the left side before colliding with a utility pole. Craft was wearing a seat belt, but was pronounced dead on the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. While not all crashes are survivable, seat belts can greatly decrease the occupant’s chance of death and will greatly reduce the extent of injury. In 2018, Troop F has investigated 16 fatal crashes resulting in 19 deaths. | |||
