TROOP F NEWS RELEASE Two Women Killed in Jackson Parish Crash Clay -- Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on US Hwy 167, at the intersection of LA Hwy 148. This crash took the life of two young women. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as a 2014 Dodge Challenger, driven by 20-year-old Madison Henson of Eros, attempted to make a left turn onto LA Hwy 148 from the southbound lanes of US Hwy 167. As the Dodge was crossing the northbound lanes of travel, it was struck by a 2015 Mack, driven by 56-year-old Jerry Manhart of Camden, AR. After impact, both vehicles came to rest in the grassy median of US Hwy 167. Both Henson and her front seat passenger, 22-year-old Corinna Hoffman of Shreveport, LA were pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson Parish Coroner’s Office. Both women were properly restrained at the time of the crash. Manhart, who was restrained, was taken to a local hospital with injuries. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. In 2019, Troop F has investigated 6 fatal crashes resulting in 7 deaths.
