TROOP F NEWS RELEASE Three Vehicle Ouachita Parish Crash Kills West Monroe Man Ouachita Parish – Around 10:45 this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a three vehicle crash on LA 34 at milepost 82 in Ouachita Parish. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 GMC pick-up truck, driven by 19-year-old Nathan L. Henry of Monroe, Louisiana, was westbound on LA 34. For reasons still under investigation, Henry crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2007 Toyota passenger car, driven by 69-year-old Lawrence C. Durham of West Monroe, Louisiana. A 2005 Honda passenger car, driven by 25-year-old Brandon T. Garrison was also traveling eastbound behind the Toyota and was struck by Henry after impact with the Toyota. Due to the severity of his injuries, Durham was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office. Henry and Garrison were both transported to Glenwood Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Impairment is not suspected but toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that avoiding all distractions, obeying the posted speed limit, avoiding fatigued driving, and not driving while impaired can often mean the difference between life and death.
