TROOP F NEWS RELEASE May 22, 2021 Motorcycle Passenger Killed in Caldwell Parish Crash Columbia – Shortly after 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on US Hwy 165 at Ray Street. This crash claimed the life of 63-year-old Reba Stamper of Grayson. The initial investigation revealed a 2011 Mazda 3, driven by 45-year-old Stefani Cutrera of Olla, was traveling west on Ray Street approaching the intersection with US Hwy 165. Cutrera attempted to make a left turn off Ray Street onto US Hwy 165 and struck a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling north. After impact, the motorcycle overturned ejecting Stamper and the driver, 65-year-old Otis Peavy Jr of Grayson. Both Peavy and Stamper were wearing approved DOT helmets. Stamper was pronounced dead at the scene and Peavy was flown to a local hospital with injuries. Cutrera, who was restrained, was taken to a local hospital with injuries and also cited for failure to yield. A toxicology sample was obtained and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. In 2021, Troop F has investigated 20 fatal crashes resulting in 23 deaths. | |||
