Wisner Man Dies in Franklin Parish Crash

On January 26, 2015, at 07:00 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash on US Highway 425 approximately 1 mile south of the community of Baskin that claimed the life of a Wisner man.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Ford F250 driven by a 39-year-old Robert Buxton was traveling north on US 425 when for unknown reasons the vehicle traveled off the road and struck a tree. Buxton, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin Parish Coroner.

Alcohol use is not suspected but a toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.

While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, inattentive and distracted driving contribute to a significant number of crashes in our state. Information on distracted driving may be found online at www.distraction.gov.
