TROOP F NEWS RELEASE February 20, 2015 Monroe Woman Killed in Ouachita Parish Crash On February 19, 2015, at 7:50 p.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 594 at the intersection of Rowland Road, in Ouachita Parish that claimed the life of a Monroe woman. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by 35-year-old Brandon Bullard of Monroe, LA was traveling east on Rowland Road. Bullard failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 62-year-old Maudie Wilhite of Monroe, LA that was traveling north on LA 594. Wilhite was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Earlier today, Wilhite succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Impairment at this time is unknown. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. Bullard was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, distracted and inattentive driving continue to be leading causes of crashes in our state.
