TROOP F NEWS RELEASE October 04, 2014 Single Vehicle Fatal Crash in Caldwell Parish On October 04, 2014, at 02:23 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle crash on LA 845 that claimed the life of a Clarks man. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Dodge Pickup, driven by 22 year old Joseph Dilley of Clarks, was traveling south on LA 845. For unknown reasons the vehicle ran off the road to the right. The driver then overcorrected and drove back across both lanes of travel. After crossing both lanes, the vehicle struck several small trees and caught fire. Dilley suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Caldwell Parish Coroner’s Office. Toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Troopers urge the public to remain vigilant while driving. Never drive a motor vehicle when impaired or fatigued. Always remain buckled up while in the vehicle, regardless of seating position. Avoid distracting activities, especially the temptation of electronic devices that can substantially divert a driver’s attention away from the road and always obey the speed limit.
