TROOP F NEWS RELEASE June 23, 2015 Tallulah Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash Madison Parish – An overnight crash claimed the life of a man from Tallulah. Shortly after 1:20 a.m., on June 23, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on US Highway 80 approximately 5 miles east of the town of Tallulah. This crash took the life of 45-year-old Leon Albert of Tallulah, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed Albert was driving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee east on US 80. For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the road and into a ditch. After driving into the ditch, Albert overcorrected and the vehicle began to rollover. Albert, was properly restrained, sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish coroner. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. In 2015, Troop F has investigated 21 fatal crashes resulting in 23 deaths.
