Calhoun Man Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography

Calhoun, LA – Following a multi-agency child pornography investigation, a Ouachita Parish man has been arrested on over 14 charges related to the possession, production, and distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Over the past few months, United States Homeland Security Investigations had received information into the possession and distribution of Child Pornography from an individual in Ouachita Parish. As the investigation progressed, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit became involved.

LSP Detectives along with United States Homeland Security Investigations, and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Calhoun, LA. During the search of the residence, agents located several images indicative of child pornography on the suspect’s cell phone.

As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Buddy L. Thornhill of Calhoun was arrested and charged with 9 counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles, 1 count of Production of Pornography involving Juveniles, 3 counts of Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles, and 1 count of Molestation of a Juvenile under age thirteen.

Thornhill was booked at the Ouachita Correctional Center without incident. The investigation remains ongoing with additional charges possible.

The Louisiana State Police maintains close partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and will continue to work to locate and arrest those individuals who choose to participate in the crime of child pornography.
