TROOP F NEWS RELEASE September 24, 2015 Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash West Monroe, LA – Earlier today, a single-vehicle crash killed a pedestrian from West Monroe. Shortly after 5:40 a.m., on September 24, 2015, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Louisiana Highway 838 just west of Thomas Road. This crash took the life of 39-year-old Donald Davis of West Monroe, LA. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by 19-year-old Levi Townsend of Farmerville, LA, was traveling east on LA 838. Davis, who was walking close to the center line, was struck by the vehicle Townsend was driving. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office. Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. In 2015, Troop F has investigated 37 fatal crashes resulting in 39 deaths.
