Edmonson, Superintendent Troop E - NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release July 31, 2011 Single Vehicle Crash Claims One Life This morning Louisiana State Police Troop E investigated a single vehicle crash on Carter’s Ferry Road near LA 191. The crash claimed the life of a Zwolle man. According to investigating troopers, on July 31, 2011, at 4:31 a.m., a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by 23-year-old Jeffery Ezernack of Zwolle, LA, was traveling east on Carter’s Ferry Road. Ezernack ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected to the left, and back to the right, then ran off the right side of the road again. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its passenger side. Ezernack was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sabine Parish Coroner. Routine toxicology samples have been obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. This is the 37th fatal crash and 39th fatality Troop E has investigated this year.
