Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: July 15, 2011 Jonesville Man Arrested For Sex Crimes Yesterday, Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division/Alexandria Field Office arrested Phillip Tolbert (W/M 23 yrs) of Jonesville, LA. Louisiana State Police Investigators were contacted by the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office in April 2010 for assistance with an investigation in reference to Tolbert. The LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office had arrested Tolbert for an outstanding warrant out of Colorado for Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child. During the lengthy investigation, agents discovered a romantic conversation that Tolbert had with a female juvenile that resided in Louisiana. Once contact was made with the female juvenile, it was discovered that she had been sexually involved with him in Louisiana. The female juvenile also disclosed information about sexual activity that had occurred between herself and Tolbert in Mississippi. Therefore, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to assist. Tolbert was arrested and charged with Indecent Behavior with Juveniles (one count) and Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (one count). Tolbert was booked into the Catahoula Parish Detention Center. Charges are still pending in Mississippi. Tolbert is currently on probation for Attempted Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child out of Colorado. The Louisiana State Police is committed to investigating and arresting those who sexually exploit and victimize children.
