Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: July 18, 2011 Trooper Arrests Murder Suspect From Mississippi Early yesterday morning, a Louisiana State Police Troop E Trooper arrested a man from Jackson, MS. At approximately 1:30 am, a trooper initiated a traffic stop on a speeding 1997 Chevrolet Lumina on LA Hwy 28 at Edgewood Drive in Pineville, LA. After stopping the vehicle, the driver refused to exit the Chevrolet and sped off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued on Edgewood Drive and the driver abandoned the vehicle near Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Military Highway. After abandoning the vehicle, the driver fled on foot before being apprehended by the trooper and a Pineville Police Officer. Once the driver was apprehended, he was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. The driver did not have any identification and gave a false name and date of birth, but indicated that he was from Jackson, MS. The trooper continued his investigation and was able to determine that the man was actually Charles L. Kuebler (W/M 27 yrs). Kuebler is currently facing a murder charge and Conspiracy to Commit Murder (two counts) out of Hinds County in Mississippi. He was scheduled to appear in court last week, but failed to appear. Kuebler was/is also placed on house arrest in Mississippi. Kuebler was charged by LSP with Speeding, Aggravated Flight from a Police Officer, No Seatbelt, Misuse of a Temporary License Plate, Resisting Arrest by Giving False Information, No Driver’s License, and Misrepresentation During Booking. Kuebler is currently being held at the Rapides Parish Detention Center awaiting extradition to Mississippi.
