Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Vernon Parish Crash

Last night, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Anacoco, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 9:30 pm, which occurred on US Hwy 171 south of Anacoco. The crash involved a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Prentiss R. Dixon (W/M 62 yrs). The Harley was north bound on US Hwy 171 when Dixon lost control and exited the left side of the roadway into the median. After exiting the roadway, the motorcycle impacted some dirt and ejected Dixon.

Dixon received serious injuries and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was wearing a DOT approved helmet with the chin strap fastened.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
