Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: July 9, 2011 Pitkin Teen Killed In Crash Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a teenager from Pitkin, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 12:15 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 113 south of LA Hwy 10 in Vernon Parish. The crash involved a 2000 Ford pickup, driven by Kurt A. Lambright (W/M 18 yrs). The Ford was south bound on LA Hwy 113 when Lambright lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch and began overturning. Lambright was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. At 10:10 am, Lambright was pronounced dead. His only passenger, identified as Eric S. Robinson (W/M 18 yrs) of Hineston, LA, was not injured. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask for you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E troopers have investigated 31 fatal crashes for the year of 2011, resulting in 32 fatalities.
